Facebook obtains money transmitter licenses in 15 states
Facebook holds money transmitter licenses in at least 15 states, according to an analysis by American Banker . In it’s filing for an initial public offering, Facebook said it applied for certain money transmitter licenses and planned to apply for more in the U.S.

Facebook insights lag for some pages
Insights for a number of pages haven’t updated in days — a bug that Facebook has marked as as high priority. According to a bug report filed on the Facebook Developers site Sunday, some page owners are only seeing insights data up until Feb.

Timeline coming soon for businesses
Facebook plans to convert business pages to the new Timeline format as early as the end of February when the company will host an invitation-only marketing conference in New York City, according to AdAge . Marketers have been dreaming up ways to use Timeline for businesses since the new profile debuted at f8 , but Timeline hasn’t been an option for brands because the social network requires companies use pages instead of profiles

Facebook tests read/watch/listen Sponsored Stories — too soon?
Facebook is testing new types of Sponsored Stories based on Open Graph actions, a spokesperson from the company confirms. In the test, advertisers can pay to promote stories about a user listening to a particular artist, watching a particular video or reading an article, even if the advertiser does not own the app in which the action was taken

A number of Tab Builder page applications saw tremendous growth this week and dominated our list of emerging Facebook apps by monthly active users. Heineken, Yahoo, a sweepstakes app and games also made the list. The apps grew from between 240,000 and 880,000 MAU, based on AppData , our data tracking service covering traffic growth for apps on Facebook

60 million users engaged with apps on Facebook mobile platform since launch; average 5 times per month
Facebook Director of Product Management Carl Sjogreen revealed that over 60 million users have engaged with mobile applications via Facebook, 320 million times per month since the mobile platform launched in October 2011 . Sjogreen shared this statistic during a fireside chat with Founder of Inside Network Justin Smith at the Inside Social Apps conference in San Francisco.
